Mr. Acker is a coastal engineer with experience in coastal structures
and modeling. His past work
included data collection and analysis at the Haynes Coastal Laboratory
at Texas A&M University prior to joining Applied Coastal where he has
been applying state-of-the-art wave, hydrodynamic, and sediment
transport models. Mr. Acker is
also skilled at numerical analysis and programming, and has experience
with the techniques and equipment used to collect data in the coastal
environment, including tides, currents, and waves.

Haynes Coastal Laboratory.
An analysis was
performed to determine engineering design requirements for design
options for future levee construction sites.
Mr. Acker deployed instrumentation in the lab, assisted with
model setup and construction, and oversaw daily instrumentation
maintenance. He also oversaw
the calibration of the wave-maker and was responsible for the day-to-day
operations of the project when the project lead was away, including
collection and preprocessing of data.
Madaket Harbor Hydrodynamic and Water Quality
Analysis, Madaket, Massachusetts.
An in-depth analysis was performed to determine hydrodynamic and
water quality conditions for the Madaket Harbor and Long Pond
estuary. Mr. Acker performed
the entire modeling analysis, including the development of the 2D
hydrodynamic model of the system, and the analysis of oceanographic
data used in calibration and verification of the model.
This project is currently on-going.
