Position:
Coastal Engineer
Start Date:

Duties and Responsibilities:
Performs coastal engineering analysis and design services. Prepares
technical reports and proposals, as required. The Coastal Engineer
will have the following specific duties and responsibilities:

Performs analysis of coastal, oceanographic, and environmental
processes.

Responsible for contributing to field data collection programs.

Performs hydrodynamic and water quality modeling of estuaries and
coastal embayments.

Performs wave and sediment transport modeling.
-
Provides design calculations for coastal structures and beach
nourishment projects.

Responsible for obtaining permits under appropriate local, state,
and Federal agencies.

Works successfully with other team members to achieve project
goals.
Qualifications:
A Masters degree in Coastal Engineering or a closely related field
is required with 0-5 years of professional experience. Excellent
technical writing and oral communication skills are highly
desirable. Demonstrated capabilities in quantitative data analysis
and numerical modeling of coastal processes and familiarity with
coastal engineering design are required.
