Position:
Coastal
Engineer

Duties and
Responsibilities:
Performs coastal engineering analysis and design services. Prepares
technical reports and proposals, as required. The Coastal Engineer
will have the following specific duties and responsibilities:

Performs analysis of coastal, oceanographic, and environmental
processes

Responsible for contributing to field data collection programs

Responsible for obtaining permits under appropriate local, state, and
Federal agencies
-
Performs hydrodynamic and water quality modeling of estuaries and
coastal embayments
-
Performs wave and sediment transport modeling
-
Provides design calculations for coastal structures and beach
nourishment projects
-
Works successfully with other team members to achieve project goals
Qualifications:
A Masters degree in Coastal Engineering or a closely related field is
desirable with 0-2 years of professional experience. Excellent
technical writing and oral communication skills are highly desirable.
Demonstrated capabilities in quantitative data analysis and
familiarity with coastal processes are required.
