Position:         Coastal Engineer 

Start Date:      Immediate 

Duties and Responsibilities:  Performs coastal engineering analysis and design services. Prepares technical reports and proposals, as required.  The Coastal Engineer will have the following specific duties and responsibilities:

  • Performs analysis of coastal, oceanographic, and environmental processes

  • Responsible for contributing to field data collection programs

  • Responsible for obtaining permits under appropriate local, state, and Federal agencies

  • Performs hydrodynamic and water quality modeling of estuaries and coastal embayments

  • Performs wave and sediment transport modeling

  • Provides design calculations for coastal structures and beach nourishment projects

  • Works successfully with other team members to achieve project goals

Qualifications:

A Masters degree in Coastal Engineering or a closely related field is desirable with 0-2 years of professional experience.  Excellent technical writing and oral communication skills are highly desirable.  Demonstrated capabilities in quantitative data analysis and familiarity with coastal processes are required.
